Cost
Most residential systems start around $12,000 and most commercial systems start around $50,000, depending on system size, roof type and your state. Your free survey gives you an exact number, and financing options can lower the upfront cost to zero.
Most residential installs land between $2.50 and $3.50 per watt before any incentives, depending on your roof, equipment choice and state. Your free survey gives you an exact per-watt price for your home.
Installation
Most homes are installed in one to two days. Commercial systems take one to four weeks depending on size. From first survey to permission to operate is typically five to six weeks once permits and utility paperwork are handled.
Yes. Our team files every permit and utility interconnection document for you as part of every installation, so you don't have to deal with the paperwork.
Not usually. During your free survey we check your roof's age and condition. If it's near the end of its life, we'll flag it up front — it's far cheaper to replace a roof before panels go on than after.
Incentives
Federal, state and utility incentives change often and vary by state. Our savings calculator does not include them, and your free site survey confirms exactly which incentives apply to your address.
When your panels produce more power than you're using, the excess exports to the grid and your utility credits your account. Those credits offset power you draw at night or on lower-production days — rules vary by state and utility, and we'll confirm yours during your survey.
Maintenance
Very little. Panels have no moving parts and are cleaned by rain in most climates. We recommend a visual check after major storms and monitor system performance remotely so we catch issues before you notice a change in your bill.
Rain keeps most panels clear. In drier climates or after wildfire ash or heavy pollen, an occasional rinse can help — we can advise on this during your survey and arrange a cleaning if you'd like one.
Yes, panels keep producing power in cloudy or overcast conditions, just at a reduced output compared to full sun. Your system design accounts for your local weather patterns so annual production still meets your usage.
Warranty
Every installation carries a 25-year workmanship warranty backed directly by Sol & Sun, not a third party, plus manufacturer warranties on panels, inverters and batteries. Because we use our own crews, there's one number to call if anything ever needs attention.
The workmanship warranty covers our installation — mounting, wiring and roof penetrations — for 25 years. Manufacturer warranties cover the equipment itself, like panel output or inverter function, and are backed by the equipment maker. We handle claims on both for you.
An owned system transfers to the new homeowner along with its remaining warranty, and typically adds to your home's resale value. If you're financing, your loan or lease terms determine whether it transfers or is paid off at sale — we can walk you through your options.
