What it is.
Treatment that saves a tooth whose nerve is infected or damaged. Dr. Lindqvist cleans the inside of the tooth, seals it, and prepares it for a crown.
Who it’s for.
- Patients with deep, throbbing or lingering tooth pain
- A tooth with a dark colour or a gum abscess
- Anyone told a tooth cannot be filled
What to expect.
- Thorough numbing, checked before we start
- A small opening to clean the canals
- The canals sealed and a temporary filling placed
- Quiet jazz and breaks whenever you want them
How long it takes.
Usually one long visit of about 90 minutes.
Aftercare.
- The tooth can feel tender for several days; simple pain relief is usually enough
- Chew on the other side until the crown is fitted
- Book the crown promptly, because the tooth is weaker until it is covered
