9 years teaching
B.S. Mathematics, University of Rhode Island. Former math teacher at Classical High School.
Algebra I & II, geometry · grades 8–11
How I teach
“I have students say each step out loud before they write it down. Most mistakes are skipped steps, not wrong ideas.”
Request PriyaMarcus Bell
6 years teaching
M.A. English, Brown University.
Essays, close reading, college essays · grades 9–12
How I teach
“We start with one strong sentence, not the outline. Once a student can write one good sentence on purpose, the essay gets much easier.”

B.S. Biochemistry, Northeastern University. Former university lab instructor.
Chemistry, biology, AP Chemistry · grades 10–12
How I teach

B.A. Elementary Education, Rhode Island College. Eight years teaching in Providence public schools.
Elementary math, fractions, pre-algebra · grades 4–8
How I teach
“Math anxiety in elementary school is real, and it's very fixable. We go at a comfortable pace and celebrate every win.”

SAT, ACT, diagnostic testing · grades 10–12
How I teach

B.S. Physics, UMass Dartmouth. Graduate student in physics at Brown University.
Physics, pre-calculus · grades 11–12

M.Ed. Literacy, Lesley University. Orton-Gillingham certified for dyslexia.
Reading, spelling, early writing · grades 4–8
How I teach

Request HannahBen Okoro
5 years teaching
B.A. History, Providence College. Three years as an AP exam reader.
AP History, argumentative writing · grades 10–12
How I teach
“An AP essay is an argument, not a summary. Most students lose points in the first sentence, and most fix it in a session or two.”
Request BenSofia Marchetti

M.A. Romance Languages, Brown University. Fluent in Spanish, French and Italian.
Spanish, French · grades 7–12
How I teach
“Students speak from the very first session. Twenty minutes of real conversation does more than an hour of drills.”
Request SofiaHow do we match your child with a tutor?
We match on subject, grade level, goals and schedule. Then you meet the tutor for free before committing to anything.
What subject and grade level?
We only recommend tutors who regularly teach that subject at your child's grade level.
What's the goal?
Catching up after a tough unit, keeping up week to week, getting ahead, or preparing for a test. Each calls for a different approach, and we match accordingly.
When and where works for you?
Sessions run weekday afternoons and evenings and Saturday mornings, at your home, online, or at our Wickenden Street study space.
What if it isn't the right fit?
Tell us after any session and we'll introduce a different tutor at no cost. It's rare, but it happens, and we'd rather fix it quickly.
Your first session is free.
Meet your tutor at home, online, or at our study space before you commit to anything. If it isn’t the right fit, we’ll introduce someone else.
