Since 1997
A clifftop house that grew slowly, and stopped growing on purpose.
How it began
Alta Selva began as a single house on this stretch of cliff above Playa Pelada, built by a family that had no intention of running a hotel. Word travelled before the rooms did, and what started as a spare bed for visiting friends became, slowly and without much planning, twelve rooms set into the rainforest.
We could have kept building. We chose not to. Every room still faces the ocean, every stay is still arranged personally, and the kitchen still cooks whatever the boats and the garden bring in that day.
