The story

Behind the colour

The owners had lived with tired cream walls for years. They wanted a room that felt evening-warm even at noon, without losing the height and light of the period proportions.

We tested four blues on the north wall and chose the one that held its depth in both daylight and lamplight. Cracks and old filler were cut out and repaired before a single coat went on.

The white woodwork was painted in oil-based eggshell for a crisp edge. The result is a room that now gets used every evening.
