The story
Behind the colour
This tall stair hall had been patched repeatedly and never really felt finished. The owners wanted warmth and character rather than another coat of magnolia.
After repairing the plaster we applied limewash in three thin layers, so light moves across the surface and the wall seems to glow at different times of day.
The banister was stripped, sanded and glossed in a deep green that anchors the warm walls.
